Sharon Alister is a Senior Vice President/Investments with the Private Client Group at Stifel in Lake Forest. One of the country’s widely acknowledged authorities on fixed income securities, she is a financial advisor to high-net-worth individuals throughout the United States.

Within the financial industry, Alister is particularly well known as an insightful professional with the ability to interpret complex economic data for the easy understanding of the individual investor. She has offered opinion for Reuters International and the Business News Network and has been occasionally interviewed on investment topics by CNN, CNNfn, CNBC, PBS, Bloomberg Forum, and other national media. Her column, “Alister Talks Bonds,” appeared regularly in Physicians’ Money Digest. She also had a regular Q&A program on Chicago’s WCIU-TV’s “Ask an Expert” show.

While she is acknowledged for her broad experience and expertise with fixed income securities, she provides financial advice to clients on the full range of investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Stifel in 2008, Alister held senior investment positions with several leading financial institutions. Before joining Stifel in July 2008, Alister was a senior vice president and financial advisor at Wachovia Securities. She has been a member of the CBOE, trading and managing stock option portfolios, a fixed income money manager for one of Chicago’s largest banks, a commercial loan officer, a financial consultant to the government, and a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa. Alister earned an MBA degree in finance from the London Business School and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Denver.
